My Approach to Therapy

Every relationship with my clients is unique, and I begin our work together by getting to know you and the issues that are bringing you to seek therapy. I listen with empathy as I give you the space to express what is on your mind. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and especially couples.

My approach to therapy is based on a cognitive behavioral perspective- a research and empirically based treatment modality. With couples, I utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy- the most proven and effective form of couples therapy based on years of research. I have completed Levels 1 and 2 of specialized training through the Gottman Institute.

About Lindsey

I was born and raised in Macon, GA and moved to the Atlanta area a few years ago after finishing my undergraduate degree in Athens, GA. I have been married to my wonderful husband since 2012, and we have one son. We have one dog, a rambunctious Weimaraner named Palmer. In my spare time, you will find me spending time with my family and reading anything I can get my hands on. I love trying new foods and traveling. Most of all, my passion is for people. I enjoy meeting new people and supporting them on their journey to bettering themselves.

Education and Experience:

I knew from an early age that I wanted to study psychology, because I was fascinated with learning about people and how the mind works. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia. In my pursuit to find a career where I could express my passion for loving on others, I completed a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Georgia Health Sciences University. I worked for a few years in long-term acute care and then inpatient mental health where I gained great experience working with mental disabilities and substance abuse. My experience as a nurse was invaluable, but I found that I really enjoyed connecting with people in a way that the duties of a nurse don't allow. I made the decision to go back to school, and I completed my Master of Family Therapy degree in December 2018.

I have completed the requirements for my degree, and I am currently working towards obtaining my full license. Part of that process requires that I work under supervision for a period of time. I am currently supervised by Tara Goetz, LPC, co-owner of 360 Therapy.
